Pickpocket - Short Fiction

PICKPOCKET is a Neo-Noir with existentialist aspects. It deals with an obsessive pickpocket, who by chance gets to know a girl (Marie) that pretends to have lost her memory. And with the feeling of their affinity, his stealing of things that defines his victims as a person (money, credit cards, ID cards, photographs) and her stealing of identities, the parallelism of stealing something tangible and something abstract becomes more and more evident, while they begin to try filling their own emptiedness with each other’s definition. For they both try to answer the question, whether the “who” and the “what” a person is, existence and essence, makes a difference at all.
